Today's Wisdom

Those who do not pass from the experience of the cross to the truth of the resurrection condemn themselves to despair! For we cannot encounter God without first crucifying our narrow notions of a god who reflects only our own understanding of omnipotence and power

St. Faustina on Divine Mercy

O Eternal Love, You command Your Sacred Image to be painted And reveal to us the inconceivable fount of mercy, You bless whoever approaches Your rays, And a soul all black will turn into snow. O Sweet Jesus it is here You establish the throne of Your mercy. To bring joy and hope to sinful man. From your open Heart, as pure from a pure fount, Flows comfort to a repentant heart and soul. May praise and glory for this Image Never cease to stream from man's soul. May praise for God's mercy pour from every heart, Now, and at every and at every hour and forever and ever.
O My God
When I look into the future, I am frightened, But why plunge into the future? Only the present moment is precious to me, As the future may never enter my soul at all. It is no longer in my power to change, correct or add to the past; For neither sages nor prophets could do that. And so what the past has embraced I must entrust to God.
O present moment, you belong to me, whole and entire. I desire to use you as best I can. And although I am weak and small, You grant me the grace of Your omnipotence. And so, trusting in Your mercy, I walk through life like a little child, offering You each day this heart Burning with love for Your greater Glory.

  1. Maurice Zundel states "It is difficult to love those with whom we have nothing in common, those whom we find unpleasant".
It is true, that the most difficult thing is to love someone who has nothing in common because by nature people are attracted to people that have the same characteristics as you because you can talk about the same thing. So lets see in people the gifts that are different than the ones we love or have(because usually people love what they have.)

That is why christian education unite people wether they come from different backgrounds because they carry the same principles.
Also, people are attracted to people who talk the same language as you because they understand the same jokes and they eat the same food.( I myself is attracted to people who speak French. )Also, parents love their children because they look like them.

So,if we think that we might dislike the people with whom we have nothing in common we should work hard to be civil towards them. This first step, will allow us to see maybe something exceptional in them which is probably our christian education. (In the field of education, the children who are learning disabled, meaning that they cannot learn whatever the teacher does are called "exceptional" as they have other gifts which gan involve art..etc)

But God gave us the freedom to choose our friends and therefore for those who are not close to us, we can act in a christian way to show compassion, and understanding which is another kind of love. Love can be expressed in many ways ..It can be a gesture ( writing a card to someone, smiling to give happiness ..It is something where there is no anger. So if people just do that, they would have reached a higher level of love...
Caring for love, also means to stay way from people who wish you harm( because when you stay away you are protecting in a way the symbol of love) or who envy you without answering them back. Then love is not altered. It is simply an act of humility ..So lets work hard on loving each other the way the Lord has taught us without forgetting that the person we love beyond anything is our creature.

  2. Nancy sent me an email to correct the last sentence. The correction is: So let's work hard on loving each other the way the Lord has taught us without forgetting that the person we love beyond anything is our Creator.

    Thanks, Nancy...
