Today's Wisdom

Those who do not pass from the experience of the cross to the truth of the resurrection condemn themselves to despair! For we cannot encounter God without first crucifying our narrow notions of a god who reflects only our own understanding of omnipotence and power

A Prayer on a Sunday

O Lord God, everyone who is in need prays to you even if they do not pray...In this coronavirus pandemic that has taken away so many victims, caused much suffering, and caused separation or isolation of so many communities, cities, and countries, there is only YOU to whom we can go. In the Gospel according to St. John it is written "Jesus said to the twelve, 'Do you also wish to go away?'
Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.'" (John 6:67-69). Consider us like the "Prodigal Son" whose father, upon finding him, opened his arms and embraced him who had squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation (Luke 15: 11-32). Consider us like the leper who asked you to heal him and you "moved with pity" touched him and made him clean (Mark 1:40-42). Heal all the sick, O Lord, regardless of which religion or atheistic fellowship they follow - Have mercy on all through the intercession  of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the most pure of all creation who delivered the Saviour of the world.
Amen...
