Today's Wisdom

Those who do not pass from the experience of the cross to the truth of the resurrection condemn themselves to despair! For we cannot encounter God without first crucifying our narrow notions of a god who reflects only our own understanding of omnipotence and power

Why We Love Them

On October 1st, the Church celebrated the feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Jesuit Fr. James Martin wrote a little article on her life here... The reader may wish to read here more on her life, her "Story of a Soul" that touched so many hearts, made her the greatest saint in modern times, and the most recent Doctor of the Church declared by Pope Saint John Paul II.
On October 4th, the Church celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The reader may wish to read my post about this humanist great saint here. On October 4th 2019, this TV Mass was celebrated with a veneration of the popular saint here and could be accessed across Canada as well as other countries.
Above all, the link below shows recent excavations in the areas that Christ walked in and places of his crucifixion and his Resurrection. Watched by over 2.6 million viewers since 2017, it comes straight from Jerusalem where scholars from the renowned École biblique de Jérusalem commented on them:
